Belie Belcan is the head of the Belcan Division of the Rada Loa, the Blanca (White) court. He serves as the General of God’s Air Force—an enforcer of divine order whose authority manifests through storm, thunder, and righteous judgment. Belie Belcan expresses the will of God by whipping up hurricanes, earthquakes, and tsunamis, reshaping both land and fate in the process.

He is justice personified—the embodiment of God’s righteous wrath. He is thunder and lightning made conscious. When Belie Belcan strikes the ocean, the dominion of his brother Met Agwe Tawayo, the earth itself trembles.

Belie Belcan and the Rada Loa

Within the Rada tradition, Belie Belcan represents order, moral clarity, and lawful force. Unlike chaotic or trickster spirits, his role is precise: to correct imbalance and punish transgression. He stands as a stabilizing power within Vodou cosmology, invoked when injustice has reached a breaking point and decisive action is required.

Belie Belcan commands the loyal Loa of the Belcan nation, marshaling them against malevolent forces and those who seek to corrupt or destroy the sacred order of Vodou and its adherents.

Belie Belcan and the Archangel Michael

Belie Belcan is a highly elevated Loa, known to work in close alignment with Archangel Michael. Together, they operate as hunters within the Astral Realm—tracking agents of Lucifer, driving legions of demons and impure spirits back into the lowest depths of Hell.

This alliance places Belie Belcan firmly within a cosmic justice framework, bridging Vodou theology and angelic warfare. His role is not symbolic; it is operational. Where Michael strikes with the sword, Belie Belcan advances with storm and command.

Storm, Sea, and Sacred Dominion

Belie Belcan’s power is elemental and unmistakable. Thunder answers his voice. Lightning marks his arrival. When he enters the sea—the realm governed by Met Agwe Tawayo—the collision of their dominions causes the world to shake.

This interaction represents more than myth. It reflects a cosmology where land, sea, and sky are governed by conscious forces that cooperate and contend according to divine law.

Feast Day, Colors, and Offerings

Belie Belcan’s feast day is September 29th, aligning him with forces of judgment and heavenly authority.

Sacred associations include:

  • Colors: Green and red

  • Offerings: Tobacco first, followed by rum

These offerings acknowledge his rank and invite his attention respectfully, never casually.

When to Call Upon Belie Belcan

Belie Belcan is consulted in all serious matters, especially:

  • Legal disputes and court cases

  • Confrontations with enemies

  • The righting of grave wrongs

  • Acts of spiritual enforcement

He should be present during all exorcisms and banishments, where his authority ensures that hostile forces are not merely displaced—but decisively expelled.

Belie Belcan at our Temple

Within the Temple of the Machete, Belie Belcan stands as a patron of clarity, lawful violence, and necessary endings. He represents the moment when patience expires, and judgment moves forward without hesitation.

Prayer for Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world seeking ruination of souls.

Amen.
